Thank You for Being a Friend - episode 86
Thought it would be fun to record a short episode centered around Thanksgiving with my friends while we were on an annual girls trip. Now I know it’s an American holiday but the theme of gratitude is certainly universal. Enjoy the conversation with Becky, Kathleen and Sandy.
Reminiscing brings back wonderful snapshots of times with friends. The four of us don’t go far - that’s not the point. It’s about setting aside time, the most precious gift of all, and spending it with loved ones. There is something about having a tradition that is very special. I hope you have created some or if you haven’t you will be inspired to do so.

Thoughts from Thank You for Being a Friend
Sandy schooled us on this being the 18th annual, not the 17th as I had thought. (I did straight up math: 2021-2004=17.) As she pointed out you need to include 2004. So yes, it’s been 18 years. We started because Kathleen moved to Park City and we went to visit her. We decided then and there that this needed to be a yearly thing. We’ve been there a few times along with Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Laguna Beach, Phoenix/Scottsdale, Balboa Island, and Warner Hot Springs. All places close to Southern California so Kathleen could easily fly in.
It started out as a few nights, and every couple of years I managed to add a night or two. This was the first time we stayed a whole week. It was WONDERFUL. There is something about not having a schedule, letting it unfold, that I absolutely love. And I know this is a privilege. Not everyone has the opportunity to do such a thing. So that is something I am very grateful for.
Three words each:
Becky - loyal, gracious, peacemaker
Kathleen - fierce, generous, planner
Sandy - kind, thoughtful, friendly
Highlights from this trip: getting caught up, never running out of things to say and share, Tac/Quila Restaurant, watching the movie The Other Woman, SNL with Rami Malek (Angelo and Todd), Rummikub - always Rummikub.
