Change your Thoughts and Change Your Life - Part 1 (episode 296-1)
Like her dad told her, You can never have enough of what you don’t need.
How’s that for some mind bend-y advice?
Megan German had lots of other wise nuggets to share with us, like how we think about things can be shifted to work better for us. Her coach training with Jody Moore has empowered her to better understand how ‘mindset’ or ‘thought work’ can change everything.
She wants to help others see things differently for their good, just like it has encouraged her to look at circumstances differently in her own life. Megan has given herself permission to pursue this learning in service of others.
Megan German is our guest this week for Permission to Want More: What’s Next and What’s Left. This is part one of our conversation.
Fun. Intentional. Kind.

Thoughts from Change Your Thoughts and Change Your Life
Megan and I are in the same coach training program. It’s been a wild ride of learning the concepts and then practicing them. The group was brought together in San Diego as we started with full days in person. We were all nervous as very few of the twenty-five of us knew each other previously. (Remember this was a repeat of the hard thing I did in going to a conference by myself, and staying a hotel room on my own. What’s hard for me might now be hard for you.)
The next phase of training was held through weekly Zoom meetings. We gathered together and coordinated our own time zones as we are literally all over the country from San Diego to Long Island, North Carolina to Oregon and some from Arizona, Utah and Idaho. Here we continued to deepen our learning and then to start practicing on each other. That was scary. This type of coaching centers on “thought work” or “mindset” which is more widespread in everyday usage.
We’ve started our current phase now of practicing on actual clients. Our coach, Jody Moore, is sharing her clients with us. Each week we have 5 clients to do ‘a model’ on (more on this next blog). Last week was our first week and our What’sApp text group was blowing up with comments, concerns, celebrations, frustrations, tech challenges and wins. It was pretty cool. This group of 24 women, and 1 man, has connected beautifully and we really are there for each other.
And what do we all have in common? We want to help. We want to serve. We want to empower. We’ve all given ourselves permission to invest the money, to commit the time, and to learn this thing that is a challenge, a life-changer. We are not the same people that started in January. No, we are becoming more. We want the same for our future clients. Those blessings? Those possibilities? Those thoughts that don’t serve you? Let’s change them. We can all show you how.
So no matter the niche (specialty, focus), the stage of life, or the personal development interest, we’ve got a coach for you. And if this group doesn’t meet your needs, I promise there are multiple coaches out there who are ready, and eager, to be of service - (the work performed by one for the benefit of another).
A coach uses structured dialogue, questioning, and action-oriented strategies to help individuals bridge the gap between their current state and their potential.
