Jacq is Back - Episode 11

Stuff We’re Into Right Now

We started with a blank slate and went to work. Jacquelyn and I thought it would be fun to exchange ideas on some things, either recently discovered or classics, we are into right now. She’s a thirty-something and I could be her mother so we’ve got that generational difference-thing going on which makes for more varied answers.  We want to share them with you. Here are our categories:

  • Entertainment: song, TV show, movie, book

  • Tech: podcast, website, app

  • Outside: clothes, make-up, skincare, exercise, food

  • Inside: spiritual, self-improvement, for the heart

The categories can definitely overlap. No hard and fast rules here. Just a great place to start a conversation.

Feel free to email us your own ideas and we’ll get them out there!

Don’t Forget to Play

Thoughts from Jacq is Back

While Jacqueline and I collaborated on the things we could talk about from our own unique perspectives, I was struck by how much FUN I was having in the process. How PLAYFUL it felt to create, to bounce ideas off one another and to come to a shared, agreed-upon place.

My takeaway from this episode is to remember the feeling of being a kid and playing at whatever it was you enjoyed. There were various activities to fill your day: some physical, some not, some imaginative, some solo, some with others. But it was always there - PLAY. Somewhere along the way we get serious, or more serious, and we forget to play. We forget how much bliss/joy we can feel by getting lost in something that is just plain fun. It is fulfilling, exhilarating and necessary. We need to keep some of that as adults. And if we’ve forgotten we need to learn. Re-learn.

My other thought has to do with sharing. As women we naturally want to SHARE. Share our stories. Share our happiness. Share our tears. Share the latest book (or fill in the blank) our friends must know about and experience as soon as possible so they can be as moved (or fill in the blank) as we were. We are constantly seeking connection, community, to be known. This is one way we do it. And isn’t it WONDERFUL?!
