Where Science Meets the Sacred - episode 259

She’s one smart cookie.  I couldn’t help but notice that during our conversation.  BA Crisp writes for curiosity and elevation.  How is that for intriguing?  She’s written five books: a fantasy trilogy, self-help, and memoir. Currently writing about quantum physics because she is fascinated by where science meets the sacred, as God is everywhere. She shared the results of some fascinating studies that revealed how DNA and blood outside of the body react to positive and negative forces.  Heady stuff.  I did my best to keep pace with her brilliant mind and I think I followed along reasonably well.  BA is our guest this week for Thinking through My Fingers - a Writers Series.

BA has been on the podcast before in Don’t You Ever Quit episode 148.

I wrote for catharsis and redemption.

Now I write for curiosity and elevation.

How to Hug a Ghost

Thoughts from Where Science Meets the Sacred

It occurred to me as I was planning this series that it made sense to ask each writer to choose an excerpt from one of their pieces to share with the readers of this blog. I think it’s a great way to collaborate and to entice you to check out their work further. Happy reading.

This is from How to Hug a Ghost: Embracing Your Past as a Launchpad for Life.

“At the age of seven, supervised visits with Mom were stained with a harsh truth. My encounters with her had to be monitored because she’d made two attempts on my life…After another night being deprived of food and water, I dreamt of a beautiful lady in flowing blue robes. She glided into the motel room through a wall and gracefully sat at the foot of my bed. Her voice was soothing as she “spoke” to me, but I was afraid she’d wake my mother. The lady assured me that my mother and brother would not stir. Then, I realized her words echoed in my mind; she communicated telepathically. Although she bore a ghostly semblance, there was nothing frightening about her—she was the most beautiful angel I’d ever laid eyes upon, though admittedly, this was my first encounter with an angel, and the blue robed lady didn’t have any wingsThe angel smiled warmly and told me everything would be all right because I chose this path and had work to do…"  —BA Crisp

I make an outline, I burn sage, I meditate, I run, and do yoga to get the creative juices flowing.

Some days it doesn’t come and I put it away.
