Keeping Her Faith Alive - Part 2 (episode 288-2)
While Taylor Swift may not be her favorite, Rae O’Rourke loves to watch hockey, and is not a fan of sharing her food.
Guess what? I love how she played 2 Truths and a Lie - very transparent and vulnerable. Being herself. Something you get to do too if you tamp down your fears about how you’re showing up. Rae has been given the gift of patience and she uses it for self-reflection, a helpful tool. Rae internalizes a lot of her actions, and instead of losing her cool in a situation, she tries to put herself in the other people’s shoes, and then she thinks, What can I do differently? That is the mark of keeping your faith alive. Love in action.
Rae is our guest this week for Spicy Christian Women - Becoming all that and a bag of chips. This is part two.
Get into that mindset of putting God first, and being close to Him, and then the other stuff just kind of doesn't have the same power anymore.
— Rae O’Rourke
How’s Your Mirth?
Thoughts from Keeping Her Faith Alive - Part 2
When Rae and I played 2 Truths and a Lie, I was most impressed with the statements she gave revealed things about her and she didn’t have any hesitation around being fully herself. If you know me, you know I just love that. From not being a Taylor Swift fan (Who has the courage to say that these days?); loving to watch hockey (super random but cool); and not wanting to share her food (could be from childhood, could be she wants to enjoy what she has in front of her, all of it! Nothing wrong with that). The point being she was transparent, she was vulnerable, she was ‘brave enough’ and I applaud that.
Tonight as I write this, I’m thinking it might be time for some lightness, some revelation, some bravery on my part in playing 2 Truths and a Lie with you the reader. You can email me and tell me how you did. I’ll do a few sets.

I could probably keep going and this has been fun putting this together. I do enjoy when I play this with the guests as I get to learn something about them in a more playful way. In addition to my deep thinking, pondering, and curiosity, I want to have fun. I appreciate whimsy, a playful moment or two, and I’m always up for a good laugh session. Mirth anyone? You betcha’.
The mirth of life is a must.
— Looks like I’m taking a laugh break.
